I was trying to help one of my relatives daughter on how to apply for the All India Medical Entrance Exam for year 2013 since. I couldn't find any real info on which website to apply, is there both an online and a paper form based application, how to make the payment for application and so forth..
I had to spend almost an hour of googling to get a clear picture of what is what.Thought this info may be helpful for somebody new..Here we go..
1) There is no such thing called All India Medical Entrance exam now onwards.
2) The new entrance exam is called as NEET UG 2013 - which stands for National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test for Under Graduate courses (MBBS, BDS). This is the first year NEET exam is being conducted. And is being conducted by MCI (Medical Counsil of India).
3) The entrance xam date is on May-05-2013. The last date for application submission is Dec-31-2012 without a fine and 31-Jan-2013 with fine.
4) Application fee is Rs 1000/- for general and OBC and Rs 550/- for SC/ST
5) Application can be submitted ONLY online. For applying online, please visit the website - http://www.cbseneet.nic.in/ . Funny thing is that, this website is not up and running as of now (Nov-23-2012), will be live on Dec-01-2012. I would suggest people to wait for 2nd or 3rd of Dec to apply, there will be a very high chance that the website getting crashed because of high volume initially, there may be around 10 lacks students trying to register.
